MBI began in 2018 as HMBradley, a consumer fintech specializing in elevated digital banking services designed for a modern customer. HMBradley offered industry leading products, including an industry-first high-yield deposit account tailored to customers' financial habits, the first ever spend-based dynamic cash back credit card program with tailored credit offers (One-click Credit), and customizable account automation (Routines).

Tens of thousands of US Households opened accounts through HMBradley and moved `billons of deposit dollars` over the course of nearly four years - with `50%+ cross-sell rate` between deposit and credit accounts among its customer base.

HMBradley solidified its foothold in the fintech industry through a customer-centric platform rewarding consumers for their habits not just the money in their account, offering competitive annual-yield percentage, and best-in-class customer servicing program; raising over $70M in capital along the way.

Too nimble to settle for expensive legacy vendors and products stagnated by an aging infrastructure, the team at HMBradley built its own backend infrastructure with an eye towards versatility and modularity to accommodate the increasing customer demand.

Talking with Financial Institutions helped us realize we had cracked a code: Our modular banking infrastructure connected disparate data sources, allowing us to build and launch products, and make changes to our system, in real time, without the need to replace clunky and expensive legacy cores.

Zach Bruhnke

Zach has been building software companies since the early 2000s and started MBI with a singular, yet very simple question nearly 7 years ago. Why does my bank keep asking me to fill out this application when they already know everything about me? That single question is still the heart of our Mission today and has turned into a relentless pursuit of a better customer experience in Finance.

Germain Cassiere

Germain has written software professionally for nearly 20 years, with more than ten years of that time devoted to the FinTech industry. Germain Co-Founded MBI because his primary focus is on bringing modern features and better security to the institutions and customers of the U.S. banking system.

Abbe Smith

Abbe is an early-stage builder with a special talent for partnering closely with founders on product and growth. With over a decade of experience spanning multiple verticals and roles, she currently serves as Head of Product at MBI, where she works with engineering and design to transition the product from a consumer to a business focus. Abbe has a proven track record of taking products from 0 to 1, building high-performing teams, and leading product-market fit efforts.

Alyssa Hessler

Alyssa has more than 8 years of experience helping start-ups and small businesses bring their creative visions to life. With a keen eye towards cultivating engaging user experiences, she is passionate about brand development, product messaging, and thoughtfully curated customer journeys.

Eric Boettner

Eric specializes in leveraging Functional Programming and Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS) patterns to develop event-driven backend applications. Eric's work enhances existing core banking products and integrates with external vendors to ensure data clarity and audibility. In addition, Eric enjoys working full-stack and has built multiple end-to-end products.

Kevin McBride

Kevin has over 15 years of Software Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure Engineering experience, having stood up and evolved architectures at several startups. As an early advocate of containerization, he has authored dozens of microservices, designed and managed their infrastructure, and built CI/CD pipelines to ship them safely. Kevin loves improving Observability, paying down technical debt, and working across engineering teams.

Alexey Lysenko

Alexey is a creative Frontend Developer who loves turning ideas into eye-catching, user-friendly web experiences. Always curious and eager to push boundaries, he is passionate about making the web a more engaging, dynamic place to be!
